Hello there.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed? Having trouble managing the stress of daily life? Dealing with relationship issues? Coping with your problems in unhealthy ways? Going through a difficult life transition? Or do you just feel like there is something holding you back from achieving your goals? If any of this sounds familiar, counseling can help!
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I have had experience treating individuals who struggle with a wide range of mental health conditions and co-occurring substance abuse issues, as well as those who just need a little help getting through the rough patches in life. My goal is to provide support, offer a different perspective, and arm you with the tools to manage life's challenges more effectively.
I specialize in helping young adults who are struggling with life transitions. "Life transitions" are simply periods of change in your life -- starting college, graduating, changing careers, entering or ending a serious relationship, moving to a new location, getting engaged or married, becoming a parent or stepparent... just to name a few! Change is hard for everyone. Even positive changes can be stressful, and sometimes we need a little help adapting to those changes, so that we can make the most of each chapter of our lives.
I am also passionate about helping stepmoms navigate the unique challenges of blended life, such as role confusion, defensiveness, conflict with the former spouse, financial strain, loyalty conflicts, visitation schedules, guilt, and/or feeling like an outsider in your own family -- just to name a few! While every role in a blended family comes with its own unique challenges, I find that the role of the stepmom is the trickiest to navigate, and support is often difficult to find. Although blended families are becoming the "norm," it's easy to feel like you are all alone! I can help you better understand the challenges you face, improve communication, set healthy boundaries, and "blend" more successfully.
My approach is always individualized and collaborative -- we will work together to figure out how I can best support you in making the changes you desire.
